Beautiful hotel. Very convenient to campus where our meetings took place. Very friendly staff, especially the early morning guy at the coffee bar.
I liked everything about the Oread.
Our amazing room with wrap around windows and terrace!!!!!
Restaurants, service, bartenders were fabulous
Rooms were somewhat odd. Under-decorated. No coffee makers in the rooms and there are shutters, not blackout curtains. Just different.
A funky hotel, with great food, great indoor and outdoor bars, steps from the University of Kansas campus.
It was great! Much better "everything" in their second (or 3rd? year of operation.
Wonderful location, beautiful facilities, great staff, will stay here every time we visit Lawrence, KS.
The location was convenient for our college visit at KU. The staff was very friendly.
We had to call for washclothes in our room.
We stayed here because our kids were at the KU soccer camp. We enjoyed the luxury, and the room and bathroom was very roomy. Loved the feeling of being in a castle. Also loved how we could walk to the camp every night to watch the scrimmages.
I had one of the nicest stays at the Oread that I have ever had a hotel. The room and the hotel amenities were perfect, but beyond that, the staff was amazing. They went above and beyond to make my stay exceed any other hotel stay in the past. Thank you Oread!
1-Proximity to KU - Excellent (we were there for a campus tour) 2-rooms are spacious and the beds are super comfortable. 3- staff was excellent, helpful, knowledgable and not intrusive. 4- value for the $ is excellent 5- only minor complaint- no in room coffee (unless i just didnt see where it was) 6- hote design is cool 7- rooms are quiet. 8- bathrooms are spacious and well appointed.
Beautiful exterior decor and main floor lobby and restaurants. The bed and pillows were so comfortable.
No bathtub to relax in. Tv did not work so I contacted the front desk. Staff made no effort to accommodate us with a fix or a different room or any option...then got the run-around when I tried to address it with the front desk the next morning. I go to a hotel to relax, unwind, watch movies, and have service... I finally got a call about 9 hours later (when I was back home) saying they would give me a $25 discount. Big deal... Customer service definitely lacking. I work in the service industry myself and I never would have responded the way they did. Will I go back? Probably not. I thought I was paying for a luxury hotel...
I love the feel of the Oread with all the limestone and wood integrated in the design. It is a very nice place to stay with comfortable and clean rooms, polite and helpful staff, and a wonderful campus surrounding. Lawrence is always a pleasure to visit and staying at the Oread makes it all the better!
I like that it is the embodiment of KU, even down to the exterior (and some interior) walls.
It has everything that we could want for a KU getaway, except: 1) No bathtub in our room 2) No coffee pot or water warming mechanism
quickness of elevators and valet service, friendly staff. Nice linens and they smelled great.
replace the cotton bath mat near shower for another type . It gets very wet!!!
The bed was very comfortable. I liked the shower and the shutters on the windows.
The TV was at an odd angle to the bed. You could not use the remote control while lying in bed. It would have been better to have a smaller t.v. on the wall opposite of the bed. Also, they should supply bottled water in the rooms.
Classy, beautiful, great location
Requirement to valet park and the amount of time it added when waiting to get your car. Wish the front desk had told me more about the various bars and entertainment venues within the Oread. I heard about it later from other people after I left the hotel.
